WHAT IS SCALP MICROPIGMENTATION?

Scalp Micropigmentation (or SMP for short) is a medical, non-invasive treatment that uses detailed micro-needles to deposit pigment into the scalp. The result creates the appearance of tiny hair follicles that help thicken and restore the look of fuller hair.

This procedure can give the illusion of a close buzz cut hairstyle on a bald head or adds density to a thinning hair line. The procedure can also be used to conceal scars from hair transplantation, and hide the visual impact of burns or scars on the head. Scalp Micropigmentation can be performed on all genders, skin types, and hair colors.

Frequently asked questions about

Scalp Micropigmentation

How long does it take?

Scalp Micropigmentation sessions last between 4-8 hours per session. In some cases multiples sessions may be needed to acheive desired fullness.

How many sessions will I need?

How many sessions will be needed depends on the desired outcome for the treatment, size of the area being treated, and hair density. This can be discussed at the consultation. Any session treating baldness will require 2+ sessions to acheive a full look. Treatments for thinning hair can sometimes be accomplishd in just one session.

Do I have to have a consultation?

Yes, for Scalp Micropigmentation a consultation is required. Consultations can be done in office or virtually. Virtual consultations can be done via Facetime, Teams, or Zoom. Consultations can also be done by sending recent photos clearly showing the areas of the scalp that will be treated.

Is it going to hurt?

During a Treatment, a Two Phase numbing cream system is used. The first is a topical that is applied before the procedure starts, and the second is a gel that can be reapplied during the procedure to prolong the numbing throughout the entire procedure. You should expect to feel minor discomfort at times.

How long will my results last?

Scalp Micropigmentation is considered semi permentant, lasting approximatly 8 years. Client skin type and lifestyles will affect how long the SMP will last.  SMP pigments will get lighter but the pigment color will not change. Touchups will prolong the treatment results.

How much does it cost?

Scalp Micropigmentation is a very tedious treatment.

Each hair follicle is placed one by one carefully.

Working fast can result in sploch , uneven results.
